DESCRIPTION:

This course gives potential candidates a clear understanding of safe crane operation and veteran operators an excellent means to refresh and update their knowledge through hands-on training using a 5-ton or 25-ton crane. COC gives reinforcing lessons on safety requirements, handling loads and dealing with crane hazards. A must for those required to operate a crane part-time or full-time, whether offshore or on board a vessel. COC also gives operators a background on working with riggers and slingers.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates are expected to:
  • Know the safety requirements before, during and after crane operation
  • Apply crane principles and operating concepts
  • Apply techniques in handling loads using a crane
  • Operate crane using banksman signal method
  • Operate a crane while working a tug-line

DESCRIPTION:

FOC covers training for forklift truck operators using a 5-ton forklift.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates will be able to:

  • Maneuver forklift with or without cargo
  • Operate forklift at 150 inclination

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed for personnel who will be in charge to control firefighting operations. It covers the training recommended in Annex 2 of IMO Assembly Resolution A. 437 (XI)- Training of crew on firefighting. AFF is patterned after IMO Model Course 2.03.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates will be able to:
  • Use the techniques learned to take command and control of a firefighting team
  • Effectively organize the personnel in the event of fire on board a ship
  • Inspect and maintain fire extinguishing systems and equipment
  • Record incident and investigation reports

DURATION:

DESCRIPTION:

This OPITO approved course is designed for personnel traveling to oil and gas installations/facilities via helicopter. HUET w/EBS provides specific training in pre-flight and in-flight requirements and equips delegates with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills required in the event of a helicopter emergency – with specific focus on escaping from a helicopter following ditching.

It is composed of lectures, demonstration and practical exercise using full-scale HUET simulators and use of the Emergency Breathing System (EBS) of Lifejacket Air Pocket (LAP)

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates are expected to perform the following:
  • Don a transit-type survival suit and aviation life jacket
  • Prepare for a helicopter emergency landing on land water
  • Properly use and apply the emergency re-breather system
  • Safely exit or escape from a crashed submerged or capsized aircraft

DESCRIPTION:

This OPTIO approved course is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training and assessment requirements for personnel new to the offshore oil and gas industry.

BOSIET introduces delegates to the specific safety issues and regimes relevant to offshore installations, and to equip them with the basic emergency response knowledge and skills for traveling to and from offshore installations by helicopter.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates will gain a fundamental level of understanding of safety and emergency response on an offshore installation and demonstrate skills in:
  • Offshore safety
  • Helicopter safety and escape
  • Sea survival including first aid
  • Firefighting and self-rescue

DESCRIPTION:

This course is designed to provide participants with the required knowledge and skills to safely erect and dismantle scaffold structures to reduce risk of injury and damage to personnel and property in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) and accepted safe working practices. The course also deals with applicable legislations, personal responsibilities, the engineering principles behind scaffolding, the correct procedure and rules to safe erection and dismantling of scaffolds, accident prevention and scaffold maintenance.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the course, the delegates should be able to:
  • Prepare and execute scaffolding plans
  • Identify the scaffold-related danger areas on an offshore installation
  • Conduct inspections of scaffolding, scaffold components and assess scaffold capacity
  • Apply safe erection and dismantling procedures
  • Demonstrate emergency procedures pertaining to scaffolds
  • Properly use, maintain and store scaffolding equipment

DESCRIPTION:

PFRB provides the training to launch and take charge of a fast rescue boat, in accordance with Section A-VI/2 Paragraph 2 of the STCWC Code.

PRFB is patterned after the IMO Model Course I.24

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Delegates will be able to:
  • Handle and maneuver fast rescue boats during or after launch in normal and adverse weather and sea conditions
  • Carry out search operations
  • Properly use all locating devices including communication and signaling equipment between the rescue boat, helicopter and ship

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

  • Medical Certificate
  • Basic Safety Course (BSC) Certificate
  • Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB) Certificate

DURATION:

3 days

DESCRIPTION:

This practical, hands-on intensive training course is designed to train personnel assigned to serve as a member of an Emergency Response Team on an offshore installation. With offshore-specific hazards in mind, the course instills confidence and competence in participants when dealing with fire and non-fire-related hazards and emergencies.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Delegates will be able to do the following:
  • Maintain a state of readiness and respond to emergencies
  • Enter incident areas and work safely
  • Rescue personnel
  • Carry out firefighting operations using fixed and/or portable firefighting equipment
  • Maintain effective communication in accordance with procedure and ensure that the appropriate persons are notified
  • Use firefighting equipment

DESCRIPTION:

This course provides the training to launch and take charge of a survival craft or rescue boat in emergency situations in accordance with Section A-VI/2 of the STCW code.

PSCRB is patterned after IMO Model Course 1.23.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:

Trainees will be able to:
  • Operate a lifeboat and its life-saving equipment
  • Take charge of survival craft launching and recovery
  • Perform man overboard rescue maneuver
  • Use all locating devices, including communication, signaling apparatus and pyrotechnics
  • Maneuver lifeboat to a safe area

ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

  • At least 6 months sea-going service
